Our goal at Project Prehab is to give you control. Through appropriate corrective exercise and manual therapy, we empower both our pre-operative and post-operative patients to take control of their health and wellness. Our Pre/Post-operative treatment plans are designed to restore range of motion, reduce swelling, educate on wound care management and improve strength so our patients can return to the hobbies they enjoy doing most.
Manual therapy is the application of skilled hand techniques to assess and correct movement dysfunctions. Techniques are carefully chosen as indicated through constant evaluation and assessment to improve soft tissue restrictions through graded mobilizations or manipulation, to increase both passive and active range of motion, to decrease edema and to promote relaxation.
At Project Prehab we specialize in the clinical integration of Orthopedics and Sports rehabilitation. We do this by offering injury risk assessments, by evaluating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and by treating each patient individually to optimize and restore function. Our goal is to return each athlete to a higher level of function than their pre-injury ability.
Dry Needling is application of small filiform needles used to compliment therapeutic exercise or manual therapy techniques. Dry needling is commonly used to treat muscle dysfunction such as poor muscular activation and coordination, muscle tightness, as well as help restore proper pain control. When inserted into a muscle belly they facilitate muscular healing by increasing blood flow and nutrients such as oxygen to the dysfunctional area.
Appropriate concussion management requires a multidisciplinary approach. We work closely with neurologists on field athletic trainers, team / school athletic departments to manage patients and athletes that have sustained a concussion. Our physical therapists perform baseline testing and prescribe a multimodal treatment approach to each patient or athlete.
At Project Prehab we offer sports conditioning for recreational / competitive athletes of all levels. Each program is designed with the athlete’s age, sport and position in mind. All athlete’s go through a comprehensive movement analysis to identify areas for growth. Athletes then participate in a comprehensive program designed to increase aerobic capacity, muscular strength and power, and to enhance balance, hand eye coordination and sensory awareness.
